At Stroke Awareness Oregon, I took on the role of overall Producer for a remarkable live stream event aimed at supporting a stroke survivor’s dream of returning to the broadway stage. This ambitious play, titled "Freedom Off the Page," involved immense planning, coordination, and execution.

Growing up with a life on Broadway, the Kim O’Kelley-Leigh’s passion for performance never diminished, and our organization’s goal was to help her reclaim that dream. To achieve this, I undertook the following responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and Venue Coordination: I secured an event date at The Tower Theater in downtown Bend,OR; ensuring it met all the logistical requirements for both the live performance and the live stream.

  • Marketing and Promotion: I created compelling marketing assets to generate buzz and attract an audience. This included designing promotional materials, managing social media campaigns, and reaching out to potential attendees and supporters.

  • Theater Crew Coordination: I worked closely with the theater crew to align all technical and logistical elements, from lighting and sound to stage design and rehearsal schedules.

  • Auction Management: To further support the event, I assisted with oversight of our auction items, coordinating with donors and organizing the auction process to maximize fundraising efforts.

  • Live Stream Setup: I coordinated with the live stream crew to ensure a seamless broadcast of the event. This involved setting up cameras, managing the stream’s technical aspects, and ensuring high-quality video and audio output.

  • Digital Logistics: On the backend, I set up all digital logistics, including ticket sales, virtual attendee management, and post-event follow-ups with the live-stream recording.

Through project management and collaboration, I successfully facilitated this event, ultimately getting Kim to step back into the spotlight and fulfill her dream. The event not only highlighted her resilience and talent but also raised awareness and funds for stroke survivors, making a lasting impact on the community.
